LOGAN – The League of Women Voters of Cache Valley has scheduled a double-header Meet the Candidates forum in mid-September.
Those events will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 11 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Logan.
“This will be an opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from candidates for local, state and federal offices,” according to Jim Evans, a spokesman for the group.
Both forums will be moderated by Tom Williams of Utah Public Radio and will be streamed live on www.UPR.org
The forum on Sept. 10 will feature candidates for Districts 2, 3, 5 and 7 on the Cache County Council; District 2, 3 and 5 in the Utah Legislature; and Utah’s 2nd Congressional District.
The public gathering on Sept. 11 will feature candidates for Districts 2, 4 and 7 on the Cache County School Board; District 5 on the Logan City School Board; Seat 1 on the Utah State Board of Education; and two seats on the Cache Water District.
Forum organizers say these events will provide candidates with the opportunity to introduce themselves, discuss their priorities and respond to questions from local voters.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, non-profit group founded in 1920 to promote voting rights and provide voter education to all American citizens.
The First Presbyterian Church is located at 178 West Center Street in Logan.
