SALT LAKE CITY — Additional reservations for the Salt Lake Temple open house are being made available in two phased releases following overwhelming demand, officials with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced.
The second wave of tickets opened at 6 p.m. MDT on Sept. 15, with a third batch scheduled for release Oct. 1 at the same time. The expansion follows an initial release where 1 million reservations were claimed in less than 24 hours.
The open house is part of the six-month Salt Lake Temple Celebration, running from April 5 through Oct. 1, 2027, marking the historic reopening of the Church’s flagship structure following extensive renovations. The public event offers a rare opportunity for non-members to tour the sacred facility before its official re-dedication, after which entrance is reserved exclusively for Church members.
Under the theme “Rejoice in Christ,” Church leaders emphasized that the event is designed to foster spiritual connection rather than mere architectural appreciation.
“This is more than touring a building — a remarkable building,” said Primary General President Rosemary K. Chibota. “It is about coming closer to Jesus Christ. It is about feeling God’s love for us and remembering that all of us are beloved children of our Heavenly Father.”
To accommodate a global audience, the Church is offering virtual tours, interactive exhibits, and digital resources alongside the in-person event on Temple Square. President Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles stressed the inclusive nature of the international gathering.
“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a global church with a universal message of Jesus Christ in which we rejoice,” Uchtdorf said. “We invite you to come and see.”
