SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Workforce Services is hosting a statewide virtual job fair Thursday, May 7, highlighting thousands of employment opportunities across Utah.
More than 50 employers are expected to participate in the free online event, with more than 2,700 open positions available in a range of industries, including health care, education, construction, government, transportation, manufacturing and hospitality.
“We encourage job seekers to research the employers and the positions they are interested in prior to the job fair, so they can confidently share how they are a good fit for the job openings,” said Liz Carver, Workforce Development Division director. “Whether you are looking for a full-time, part-time or summer job, the virtual job fair gives you the opportunity to connect with multiple employers all in one place.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is accessible from a computer or smartphone. Participants who log in will navigate a digital floor plan featuring employer booths, where they can view company information, browse job openings and interact directly with hiring representatives.
Job seekers can engage in live chats, participate in one-on-one video interviews and, in some cases, receive job offers during the event. Organizers recommend participants upload a resume and professional photo in advance to maximize their opportunities.
Registration is required through jobs.utah.gov via the “my Job Search” portal. Participants must sign in on the day of the event to access the virtual job fair.
To help participants prepare, the department will host two online workshops on May 6 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In addition to the event, Workforce Services reports approximately 25,000 job openings statewide, which can be searched online or through local employment centers.
