LOGAN — A Logan chiropractor previously charged with dozens of felonies is facing new cases related to the alleged sexual abuse of his patients during the past 10 years.
Evan J. LeFevre, 59, was charged Wednesday in Logan’s First District Court with three additional counts of second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse and first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child across two new cases. He was initially arrested in December 2025 and later charged with 40 counts of forcible sexual abuse.
LeFevre appeared in court Monday on his prior cases. His defense attorney, Shannon Demler, asked for a jury trial to be scheduled after prosecutors said they plan to call many of the alleged victims to testify. The first case was set for a four-week trial April 19 to May 14.
As LeFevre was leaving the courtroom, law enforcement officers arrested him on the two new cases and booked him into the Cache County Jail.
According to the new charging documents, LeFevre is accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old patient during an appointment in November 2023. The alleged victim’s mother told police she was present at the appointment when she observed LeFevre slide his hands beneath her daughter’s pants and underwear onto her buttocks while massaging her back.
During a subsequent forensic interview, the victim, now 15, told investigators that LeFevre touched her entire buttocks. Having never previously visited a chiropractor, the victim said she initially assumed the touching was a standard part of the procedure. Her mother told officers they returned for three to five additional appointments, during which no further improper touching occurred.
In total, LeFevre now faces 44 felony charges involving 25 victims, with reported incidents dating back to 2018. According to the Logan City Police Department, more than 45 women have come forward during the investigation to report inappropriate conduct. Some of the alleged misconduct fell outside the statute of limitations, while other reports did not meet the legal threshold for criminal charges.
The latest allegations follow a pattern outlined in previous charges, in which women seeking chiropractic treatment for pain were allegedly sexually assaulted during their visits.
The earliest incident allegedly occurred in July 2018. That victim, an employee at LeFevre’s practice, reported that he touched her inappropriately and sent overtly sexual text messages. Several other victims have reported similar experiences of LeFevre placing his hands under their clothing during treatments.
During Wednesday’s initial court appearance on the two new cases, Cache County Deputy Attorney Aaron Jossie asked the court to hold LeFevre without bail due to the number of cases.
Demler said the new charges happened years ago and his client was already on $100,000 bail. He noted how his client has followed pretrial release stipulations and hasn’t had any recent allegations against him.
Judge Angela Fonnesbeck agreed to allow LeFevre’s release on the existing bond and ordered him to appear again in court Oct. 5. She reiterated that the Logan man is forbidden from contacting the alleged victims, leaving the state, or practicing chiropractic medicine.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
