LOGAN — Deputies have arrested three people in connection with an alleged shooting in Logan Canyon, above the Temple Fork turnoff.

Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen said 18-year-old Josh Haag was booked into the Cache County Jail on three initial charges of obstructing justice, burglary of a vehicle and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, all misdemeanors. Two other juveniles, a 16-year-old female and 17-year-old male were referred to juvenile court on similar charges.

Jensen said the teens called 911 Friday morning claiming they had rolled their vehicle in an attempt to escape a ranch herder who had shot at them with a shotgun.

Police officers, deputies and SWAT teams located the wrecked vehicle and questioned the ranch herder. He told investigators he caught the juveniles in his campsite at approximately 4:30 a.m. that morning.

The man admitted to firing one round into the ground after yelling at the juveniles to leave.

Jensen said no charges will be filled against the ranch herder and deputies are still looking for a fourth person of interest.
