AVON – The local five-man band the Barn Kats will perform at a free barn dance on Saturday, Sept. 6.

That event is slated for 6 to 8:30 p.m. at “The Barn in Old Paradise,” which is owned by Casey and Kelli Snider and is actually located in Avon.

“The Barn in Old Paradise” is an event venue created by Kelli and Casey Snider. With one of the best views in Cache Valley and a location of truly historic significance, it’s newly built from authentic hundred-year-old plans unearthed by Snider at the Utah State University archive.

The Barn Kats are well-known to regular attendees of the Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous, according to barn dance organizer Dale Major. That band often plays for the family dance at the rendezvous event each spring.

The band also performed this summer at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza in downtown Logan, playing their trademark bend of country, rock and blues tunes.

The free Barn Dance promises to be a lot of fun, Major says, and everyone is invited.

“The Barn in Old Paradise” in Avon is located at 10802 South Highway 165 in Avon.
