LOGAN — A 21-year-old Perry man has pleaded guilty to enticing a teenage girl and then bribing her not to press charges. Braydon M. Brailsford accepted a plea deal and is headed to prison.

Brailsford was in 1st District Court Monday afternoon. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to enticing a minor by internet or text, a second-degree felony.

In March 2021, Smithfield City police officers received a complaint about the sexual activity from the victim’s parents. They reported, Brailsford had engaged in a sexual relationship with their 14-year-old daughter.

Officers were given the victim’s cell phone. It showed several texts with Brailsford about the relationship. There were also messages from the defenant, asking the girl to tell her parents not to pursue charges because he was in enough trouble..

Brailsford also sent the victim a message through social media, offering to pay her if she did not report the sexual relationship.

As law enforcement continued to investigate Brailsford, eight other females came forward with similar allegations. Five were minors at the time of their alleged sexual assaults.

Court records show, Brailsford previously accepted plea deals in two other cases in Box Elder County. He pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies.

During Monday’s hearing, defense attorney Julie George explained that Brailsford had been sentenced earlier in the day on one case. The terms were one to 15-years in prison.

Brailsford spoke briefly, telling the court he understood the rights he was giving up pleading guilty in the Logan case.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped four remaining charges.

Judge Angela Fonnesbeck scheduled sentencing for October 3 that will follow sentencing in second Brigham City case.

Brailsford could face one year to life in prison on the remaining two cases.
