PARADISE – The Fire and Rescue team in Paradise is holding their annual Memorial Day Breakfast fundraiser on Monday May 27, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 9036 S. 100 W. next to City Hall.

“Paradise Fire and Rescue is one of the last true volunteer fire stations left in Cache Valley,” said Mark Marrott, the spokesman for the department. “We provide services to Avon and help with Wellsville, Providence, Hyrum and Nibley.”

The money raised at this breakfast will be used for equipment and training. They do receive money from the county, but these fundraisers go a long way to help with updating equipment and extras

“We also do a fund-raising breakfast during Trout and Berry Days,” he said. “We have a goal to raise $5,500 bucks this year, so we are opening up the breakfast to the whole valley.”

The $5,500 is a pie in the sky goal; the fire department usually makes $2,500 to $3,000 per event.

“We have great support from our community,” Marrott said. “There have been several local establishments that have offered to donate some supplies. Costco, Ridley’s in Hyrum, Walmart, Macey’s and there may be other volunteer goods to help us.”

The pancake breakfast includes eggs, hashbrown potatoes, ham and of course pancakes. The cost is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Cards, checks and cash accepted.
