LOGAN – Graduation ceremonies at seven Utah State University statewide campuses were conducted in April, leading to two days of commencement activities Thursday and Friday this week at USU’s Logan campus.

Ceremonies begin Thursday, May 2 at 9 a.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum with college convocations and hooding ceremonies Thursday afternoon and through most of the day Friday.

Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Company, will be the commencement speaker and she will also receive an honorary degree during the ceremony, as will Darren B. Perry, former chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation and Bruce Carlson, retired general in the U.S. Air Force who is chair of the Space Dynamics Lab Board of Directors.

During this 137th commencement this week USU will confer 7,471 degrees to 6,897 students. That includes 4,510 students on the main Logan campus and nearly 2,400 others at statewide campuses.

This year the five most popular degrees among undergraduates are Economics (307), Communicative Disorders and Deaf Educations (238), Psychology (216), Mechanical Engineering (189) and Integrated Studies (188).
