LOGAN — A 44-year-old Logan man has been sent to prison for molesting several young girls continuously for years. Dustin James Creager apologized before being ordered to serve at least 20 years at the Utah State Correctional Facility.

Creager was sentenced Monday, Mar. 11, in Logan’s 1st District Court. He previously pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a child and attempted sexual abuse of a child, both first-degree felonies; along with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

According to prosecutors, Creager molested the girls over the course of nine years from 2009-2018. He was originally arrested in February 2022, after one of the victims called police to report how she was fondled and groped by the defendant while visiting his house.

Additional charges were later filed after another girl came forward, describing how she had also been sexually abused by Creager over the course of 12 years. The girls both gave police similar accounts of being molested by the defendant, who had a position of trust with them. He also would force them to inappropriately touch him.

One of the girls described how Creager threatened her if she reported the abuse. The other said she was molested from the time she was 4-years-old until she was 16.

Police attempted to question Creager at the time of their investigation. He refused to cooperate and invoked his right to legal counsel.

During Monday’s sentencing the victims described Creager as being “abusive, sadistic and a menace to the community.” They called him a monster, who had left them with PTSD, and doubts as to whether or not they could feel love from another person.

Creager said he was sorry for his actions. He told the court, “I fully accept the punishment I receive.”

Judge Spencer Walsh told Creager, it was apparent that he had left a path of destruction. He praised the victims for their bravery, and reassured them that they had done nothing wrong.

Judge Walsh called Creager a “sexual predator.” He noted that the sentence was the maximum penalty he could give under Utah law.
