LOGAN – City officials are advising motorists of possible delays on Canyon Road east of town on Thursday, May 9 and Monday, May 13.

Motorists are being warned that the westbound lane of Canyon Road will be closed to through traffic between the junction of U.S. Highway 89 and approximately 1600 East — near the Utah Water Research Laboratory — during those days.

The road closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to noon on May 9 and all day on May 13.

The purpose of that closure will be to allow crews from Logan City Street Division to install advanced warning signs on Canyon Road. Those signs are intended to notify motorists when trucks are using the roadway.

Although the eastbound lane will be open, motorists are advised to use caution as equipment and crews will be working in the roadway.

City officials add that, during the periods when the westbound lanes of Canyon Road are closed, the Canyon Entrance Park will still be accessible from U.S. Highway 89.
