LOGAN – The Logan City Fire Department will host an open house on Friday, Mar. 22 to show off their newly finished Fire Station 70 to the public.

That event is slated for 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the new station house located on the corner of 95 East, 200 North, across the street from the old Station 70 location.

Construction of the new fire station — which provides more space for both firefighters and administration, as well as additional seismic security — began in October of 2022.

Guided tours of the new station for about 15 members of the public will start every half-hour, according to Jalayne Hatch, an LCFD administrative assistant.

No reservations are being accepted, she added, indicating that all tours will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

“All ages are welcome,” Hatch emphasized, but the tours are not intended for large school groups.

Tour groups should congregate in the lobby of the new Station 70.

The last tour available during the open house will begin at 4:30 p.m.
