MILLVILLE – Cache County residents will get their first opportunity to interact with congressional candidate Karianne Lisonbee on Thursday, Mar. 26.
That meet and greet with Utah Rep. Karianne Lisonbee (R-Clearfield) will be held in the early evening hours at Ridgeline High School in Millville.
The five-term state lawmaker will challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Blake Moore for the new 2nd District seat in Congress at the upcoming State GOP Convention on April 25.
Hosted by state Representatives Casey Snider (R-Paradise) and Mike Petersen (R-North Logan), the “Meet Karianne” event will be held in two sessions at 5:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Lisonbee’s campaign is already gathering steam, having garnered the endorsement of Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz (R-Hooper) on Mar. 18.
“I trust Karianne Lisonbee,” the speaker explained in his endorsement. “She’s not just a stalwart conservative, but she gets things done.
“I am proud to endorse her and look forward to working hard to get her to Washington. Utah needs her, America needs her.”
That sentiment was echoed by Lisonbee’s legislative colleague Casey Snider.
“For over 8 years,” Snider explained, “Iʼve worked with her in the Utah Legislature on some of the most pressing issues of the day. Weʼve been both colleagues and competitors and I can unequivocally say she is the right person for the job.
“Our district deserves someone who lives here, who works here and who will defend our conservative values.”
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Lisonbee served on the Syracuse City County before joining the Legislature in 2017.
Over the past ten years, she has served on Utah House legislative committees overseeing Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice; Education; Judiciary; Revenue and Taxation; Economic Development; and Government Operations.
Also in the running as a Republican in District 2 is former U.S. Army combat engineer Colton Hatch.
Ridgeline High School is located at 180 North, 300 West in Millville.
