CACHE COUNTY – Cache County residents are being invited a series of town hall events by local attorney J. Brett Chambers slated for Mar. 28 through Mar. 31.
Chambers is one of three candidates competing for the role of Cache County attorney in the upcoming election in November.
“This is my home …” Chambers pledges. “I will serve this office the way Cache Valley deserves – with honesty, hard work and accountability.”
The first of Chambers’ town hall gatherings will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Mar. 28 at Salt Hollow Park in Hyrum.
Later that same day, Chambers will host another meet and greet from 2 to 4 p.m. on the east side of the James Mack Memorial Park in Smithfield.
The final town hall will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 31 at Tabernacle Park in Wellsville.
The three-way contest for the post of county attorney began in January, when former County Attorney K. Taylor Sorensen resigned his county post effective Feb. 8 to return to private practice.
Chambers quickly filed to fill that post, along with acting county attorney Dane Murray and local attorney Chris Daines.
Despite Chambers winning a straw poll of Cache Republican delegates conducted on Mar. 7, Murray was appointed Interim County Attorney by a 4-to-2 vote of members of the Cache County Council on Mar. 10.
The three attorneys are slated to face off again for the Republican nod at the Cache GOP Convention on Saturday, April 11 at Ridgeline High School in Millville.
Salt Hollow Park is located at 350 West, 100 North in Hyrum.
James Mack Memorial Park is located at 70 Canyon Road in Smithfield.
Tabernacle Park is located at 75 South, 100 East in Wellsville.
