LOGAN — Police are on the scene of a shooting that occurred Friday morning on the southwest side of Logan.
The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. near 800 South and Legend Drive. As a precaution, a Reverse 911 alert was issued to nearby residents, asking them to shelter in place.
According to emergency radio traffic at the time of the incident, officers located a victim inside a vehicle and immediately began CPR until paramedics arrived.
Logan Police Lt. Bret Randall confirmed the “officer involved incident” shortly after it occurred. He assured residents that there is no active threat to public safety. However, law enforcement is asking people to avoid the area to allow their first responders the space they need to work safely.
