BOX ELDER COUNTY –Brigham City police are renewing their call for public assistance in a homicide investigation after human remains, found in April, were confirmed to be those of a woman.

The remains, discovered on April 2nd in a black plastic bag near 2600 West Highway 13 by railroad workers, were in an advanced state of decomposition. Investigators say the woman was likely between 30 and 50 years old, 5 to 5-and-a-half feet tall, and believed to be of European descent. She had brown hair and was wearing an “Original Cold Storage” hoodie, among other clothing.

Crucially, police have released an artist’s rendition of a unique, heart-shaped tattoo with lettering found on her left upper arm. They’re hoping a friend or family member will recognize it.

DNA is being processed, and the FBI’s ViCAP program is assisting, which is standard for cases that may have crossed state lines. If you have any information, please contact Brigham City Police at 435-856-7023.
