LOGAN – The Week of the Young Child (April 8-12) is underway at Utah State University and within the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services are six early childhood programs that will be involved in the activities.

For the Week of the Young Child, the Dolores Dore Eccles Center for Early Care and Education (DDE) has invited all early childhood programs on campus to celebrate the children they serve.

DDE Executive Director Lisa Boyce said it is important to recognize there is much that can be done for children in the first five years of their lives.

The culminating event for the week is a children’s parade on the Logan campus for children and families who are served by USU’s early childhood programs. Starting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, children will follow a designated route on the lawn between the HPER and EDUC buildings. Costumes and noisemakers are welcome.

Visit the DDE website for more information and to view the parade route.

Every year childcare centers across the co untry celebrate Week of the Young Child which was created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which promotes high-quality early learning from birth to age 8.
