LOGAN — A 67-year-old Clarkston man was hospitalized after being thrown from a horse Friday morning.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said Michael E. Miller left his home to go horseback riding around 9:00 a.m.

A construction worker saw Miller ride by near 350 West Center St. The worker said he noticed the horse appeared to be very skittish and uncontrollable.

Several minutes later the worker saw the same horse run past him without Miller.

The worker ran up the road and found Miller conscious but not alert.

Peterson said Miller was transported to the Cache Valley Hospital by ambulance and was treated for head injuries and internal bleeding.

He was later flown to the University of Utah Hospital by AirMed helicopter.
