Geraldine Steffen Hawkes, 89, passed away in her home, June 3, 2022. She was born November 21, 1932, in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Flora Juanita Iverson and Arthur George Steffen.

She was raised in Brigham City, Utah where she went to school and graduated from Box Elder High School then later went to Weber State College. She married Dean Wayne Hawkes February 12, 1953, in the Logan Utah Temple.

She was a longtime resident of Brigham City, Utah where she and Dean raised their family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all church auxiliaries including Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women Organizations. She also served as a temple organist in both Ogden and Brigham City temples. She was a family history missionary and provided service as a ward organist and accompanist for over 70 years.

She enjoyed gardening and cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Debra Hawkes, Julie Ellis (David), Richard Hawkes, Diane Wixom (Charles), Scott Hawkes, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Marilyn Travis and Becky Steffen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, parents Arthur & Juanita, son Robert, sister LeeAnna.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 11th Ward Chapel, 506 South 200 East, Brigham City, Utah.

A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Church.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary of Brigham City, Utah.
