April 29, 1954 — March 9, 2024 (age 69)
Doyle W. Mendenhall, 69, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and humility. Doyle’s life was characterized by his dedication to his family and his passion for the great outdoors. If you knew Doyle, you understood it was “Doyle’s way or the highway” and loved him for that.
Doyle faced adversity with courage and grace, battling Parkinson’s Disease with resilience until his last breath. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. He found joy in his grandchildren, and they looked forward to Grandpa Doyle giving them knuckles before leaving his home.
Throughout his career as a Project Supervisor at Raymond Construction, Doyle exemplified leadership and a strong work ethic. However, it was his role within his family that truly defined him. Family always came first for Doyle, and he cherished spending time in the mountains, whether snowmobiling or camping, seeking solace in the peace and quiet away from the world’s bustle.
Described as a man full of humility and love, Doyle was known for his gentle nature and unwavering patience. He had a knack for diffusing tensions and turning moments into valuable life lessons. His quick wit and ability to deliver jokes on the spot brought joy to all those around him.
In addition to those grieving, Doyle is survived by his wife, Kimberly Covert Mendenhall, his brothers, Richard & Alan, his children; Curtis Mendenhall (Michele), Shaylyn Pollard (Troy), Trevor Mendenhall (Ashley), Tyson Mendenhall (Alyssa), and Tennille Doxey (Dillon); along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their loss is immeasurable, but they find comfort in the memories of a beloved father, brother, son, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson & Wanda Verlene, his son Corey, his sister, Wanda Ransom, and his Mother-in-Law, Sonjia Covert.
Doyle’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace knowing he made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
The Mendenhall family would like to give a special thanks to Leslie and Sarah with Symbii Home Health & Hospice for their thorough love and care for Doyle at such a vulnerable time in his life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
