LOGAN — Southbound traffic through Sardine Canyon, U.S. 89/91 came to a halt Friday evening following a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck tanker and a pickup truck near the canyon summit.

The collision occurred around 5:45 p.m., according to Logan City police dispatch. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and authorities confirmed that injuries were sustained in the crash. The extent of the injuries and the number of individuals involved have not yet been released.

All southbound lanes are closed at the summit while emergency personnel care for the injured, investigate the cause of the accident, and work to clear the wreckage. Northbound traffic through Sardine Canyon remains open but may experience delays.

Motorists traveling southbound are advised to seek alternate routes or expect significant delays while responders clear the scene.
