BRIGHAM CITY-The Brigham City Museum of Art and History invites the public to come and see the works of Jill Thompson, the most well-known female comic book artist today. Her works will be on display at the museum from September 28th through December 7th of this year.

The museum staff expects this exhibit to be a delight for the whole family and they invite the public to come and explore the exhibition Jill Thompson: The Sc

ary Godmother and More.

Since graduating from American Academy of Art with a degree in illustration and w

atercolors Thompson began working in her comic industry career.

She has risen to the top of the male-dominated field and has garnered acclaim for her work on Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Black Orchid, and The Sandman. The exhibit will feature some of her priceless original artwork created for these and other comics. The exhibit shows what it takes to create award-winning graphic illustrations.  It is the first time most of these works have been on public display.

Thompson’s first children’s book, The Scary Godmother, was released to critical acclaim and was adapted into 3-D animation. She enjoys working with different writers and artists and most recently collaborated with former-wrestler-turned-author Mick Foley, illustrating Foley’s Halloween Hijinx, which debuted at number seven on the New York Times children’s books best seller list.

The Chicago based illustrator was recently inducted into the 2024 Eisner Hall of Fame. The Eisner Awards are the top awards given to individuals in the comic book industry for their creative achievement.
