PRESTON – Curt Fuller was recently hired as the Preston City building inspector. The city has been using the county’s building inspector, Randy Henrie, but he has four other cities he is responsible for, said Preston Mayor Dan Keller.
“The reason we hired Mr. Fuller was we needed more oversite and access to building inspector services in Preston,” Keller said. “The county has increased Henrie’s responsibilities so we decided it was time to get our own inspector.”
The Mayor said building in the city and the county have increased to the point it was time to get their own inspector.
“We are grateful Curt accepted this position,” he said. “He comes with a great deal of building experience both residential and commercial.”
Fuller said he has been in the construction business since high school 34 years ago but the last 20 years he has owned his own business.
“I’m a building inspector on an as needed basis,“ Fuller said. “Right now, it seems like am working on historic homes, but when the city calls I can do what needs to be done.”
The father of five earned a degree in finance and economics from Utah State University, but spending all day in a cubical was not his style so he got back into construction.
“Right now, with construction cost and interest rates so high there is a lot of interest in restoring and remodeling old homes,” he said. “My father was a history teacher I guess that’s where I get my interest in restoring historic homes.”
Fuller also serves on the board of the Franklin County Historical Society.
