LOGAN — A woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car and dragged Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. near 1400 N. Main Street.
Logan City Police Lt. Brooks Davis said the 20-year-old woman was reportedly riding her bike eastbound along 1400 North. At the same time, an 81-year-old man was attempting to pull out of the Winco parking lot and struck the cyclist.
Accrording to emergency radio traffic, the woman was then dragged for approximately 20 feet.
Brooks said that when officers arrived on the scene, they reported the woman was partially under the vehicle. A group of individuals who witnessed the accident helped lift the car off of the woman.
Davis said the driver of the vehicle told officers he didn’t see the cyclist.
Fire fighters and paramedics were called to the scene. They transported the woman to Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital with critical injuries.
Davis said the crash is under investigation.
