LOGAN – If you blinked and missed the hilarious Pickleville on Tour production of Bandito vs. the Prairie Pirate Posse here last weekend, there’s no reason to fret.
Thanks to the enthusiastic reception by Cache Valley audiences, the touring troupe has scheduled an encore performance of the original musical comedy melodrama by TJ Davis at the Ellen Eccles Theatre on Friday, Aug. 28.
The playwright/director/star of Bandito vs. the Prairie Pirate Posse says that Pickleville on Tour has slated the Aug. 28 show in Logan after its regularly scheduled tour of northern Utah and southern Idaho performance venues.
Bandito vs. the Prairie Pirate Posse debuted here on Aug. 7 with three performances at the Ellen Eccles Theatre through Aug. 10.
The other stops for the touring show included one-night stands in Roy on Aug. 13, Farmington on Aug. 15 and Pocatello, ID on Aug. 22.
The musical comedy melodrama builds on the backstory about Juanito’s troubled childhood at the hands of his pirate father El Diablo that playwright TJ Davis has written into some of his previous scripts.
Now the old pirate has died and left behind a chest full of gold, with Juanito and his outlaw band hot on the trail to claim that loot. But the Bandito’s ruthless brother and the infamous Prairie Pirate Posse have the same idea.
In addition to TJ Davis in the title role, the touring show will star Cache Valley’s own Kayli Checketts; Pickleville veterans Garrett Stephenson, Devin Davis and Nathan Scott; talented newcomer Kersee Whitney; and the dance ensemble of Elana Daniels, Estee Stevenson, Lyn Sullivan and Mikayla Maughan.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. encore performance of Bandito vs. the Prairie Pirate Posse at the Ellen Eccles Theatre can be obtained by going online to www.cacheARTS.org
The Ellen Eccles Theatre is located at 43 South Main Street in downtown Logan.
