WESTON – As small-town celebrations go, the Pioneer Celebration is Weston’s biggest events of the year. This year’s celebration will be on Saturday, July 22 and should be something friends, neighbors and families can chalk up to one of their favorite summer activities.

Most of the celebration will be held at the city park at 100 West Depot next to of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 27 N. Center or next to Woodward’s County Store.

This is an amazing family day for Weston. It brings the community together and allows them to teach the feeling of small towns to the next generation.

The town’s Pioneer Celebration will begin with a 1 mile and 5 K fun run at 7 a.m. and a Fit Force at the Tennis Courts at West Side High School in Dayton. A youth fundraiser breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

One of the county’s biggest parades will begin at 10 a.m. and games and vendors will begin after the parade at the city park. There will be an airplane candy drop, an old-fashioned animal chase, Fire Truck Fun in the heart of the day at 3 p.m.

The famous annual Old West Shoot Out with the Patriot Gunslingers at Woodward’s Country Store at 7 p.m.

A benefit dinner will be sponsored by Tad’s Custom Cuts and live music at 8 p.m. will be from the band Rough Stock.

To cap off the pioneer festivities will be the best fireworks show anyone has ever seen from a small town at dark.
