An accident Friday afternoon near Preston, Idaho killed a Providence woman and sent three other family members to the hospital.

According to Idaho State Police, 24-year-old Julie Cook was the passenger in a Ford F250 that was travelling northbound on US-91. The truck was being driven by 53-year-old James Cook, who was also towing a fifth wheel camper trailer and a utility trailer.

Near milepost 12, James lost control of the vehicle and the trailers, sending the pickup over a guardrail and rolling down a steep embankment. Julie was pronounced dead at the scene. James and the other passengers, 51-year-old Debra Cook and 21-year-old Blaine Cook were all transported by ambulance to Franklin County Medical Center in Preston.

ISP reports all of the occupants were wearing seat belts. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. and blocked US-91 for approximately five-and-a-half hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
