LOGAN – A special one-night performance by the Utah Symphony is scheduled for Utah State University’s Daines Concert Hall Thursday, September 11 at 8 p.m.

Hosted by the Caine School of the Arts, the concert will also feature acclaimed pianist Orion Weiss, one of the most sought after soloists of his generation. He will perform Edvard Grieg’s only piano concerto, a masterpiece with fiery moments and gorgeous melodies.

Nicholas Morrison, director of the Caine School of the Arts, said several of the visiting musicians will work directly with students in master classes before the performance.

Thursday’s concert will mark Anja Bihlmaier’s debut as Utah Symphony conductor.

The Tanner Trust for Utah Universities, which aligns with the USU’s land-grant philosophy to expand access to the arts, has made the concert possible.

Tickets are free for USU students, faculty and staff, and $10 for the general public, available at the Box Office or online.
