LOGAN, Utah – Utah State hosted representatives from seven National Football League teams and one Canadian Football League team as six former Aggies auditioned for a career in professional football during USU’s annual Pro Day at the iFIT Sports Performance Center and the Stan Laub Indoor Training Center.

The six former Aggies that participated included: cornerback Michael Anyanwu (who measured at 5-foot-9.0”, 176 pounds), offensive lineman Wade Meacham (6-5.6, 298), defensive lineman Hale Motu’apuaka (6-1.3, 293), cornerback Xavion Steele (5-9.0, 171), linebacker MJ Tafisi Jr. (6-0.2, 240) and wide receiver Terrell Vaughn (5-6.6, 170).

In addition to having their official heights and weights measured, the former Aggies were put through a variety of speed and strength tests, including the 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, three-cone drill, broad jump and vertical jump.

Anyanwu, who underwent each evaluation first, benched 11 reps at 225 pounds, recorded a 30.5-inch vertical jump and leaped a 9-5 broad jump. Inside the indoor, Anyanwu ran a sub-4.70 second 40-yard dash, 7.09-second three-cone and a USU-best 4.29-second 20-yard shuttle.

Meacham bench-pressed 225 pounds 19 times, recorded a 22.5-inch vertical jump and an 8-6 broad jump. He ran a 5.39-second 40-yard dash, 8.18-second three-cone and 4.93-second 20-yard shuttle.

Motu’apuaka led the way in the bench press, racking up 29 reps at 225 pounds. He recorded a 26.0-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-8 broad jump. In the timed drills, Motu’apuaka ran a 5.13-second 40-yard dash, 7.57-second three-cone and 4.45 second 20-yard shuttle.

Steele recorded the best vertical jump at 37.0 inches, tied for the best broad jump at 10-1 and benched 225 pounds 12 times. In the timed drills, Steele ran an Aggie-best 4.46-second 40-yard dash, 7.64-second three-cone run and 4.51-second 20-yard shuttle.

Tafisi performed well with 20 reps in the 225-pound bench-press, 29.0 inches in the vertical jump and 9-4 in the broad jump, while running a 4.96-second 40-yard dash, 7.35-second three-cone and 4.47-second 20-yard shuttle.

Vaughn, who underwent each evaluation last, led Utah State in the three-cone with a time of 7.01 seconds. He bench-pressed 15 reps at 225 pounds, jumped a 33.5-inches vertical and tied for a team best 10-1 broad jump. Vaughn ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash and 4.34-second 20-yard shuttle.

The prospects also conducted a variety of position-specific on-field drills during the day.
