BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — A 46-year-old Tremonton man faces 10 felony charges after law enforcement officials uncovered thousands of illicit screenshots, including multiple images of young children subjected to sexual abuse, according to court documents filed Monday.
Frank Edward Wright was formally charged in Brigham City’s 1st District Court with 10 counts of possessing apparent child sexual abuse material, with each count classified as a second-degree felony. Court records show Wright was taken into custody and remained held at the Box Elder County Jail.
The criminal investigation began after a cyber tip was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, alerting authorities to potential child sexual abuse material. According to a probable cause statement, investigators confirmed that the flagged internet protocol address and associated account details belonged to Wright.
Following that determination, the Tremonton Garland Police Department obtained a search warrant from a district judge authorizing law enforcement to seize and examine Wright’s phone and email records.
A subsequent forensic search of the digital devices and electronic messages uncovered thousands of pornographic screenshots, prosecutors wrote in charging documents. Among the files, investigators located at least 10 images depicting children engaged in various sexual acts and situations. The children shown in the abusive material ranged in age from toddlers to approximately 12 years old, the probable cause affidavit states.
An initial court appearance has not been scheduled on the court docket, and court records did not indicate whether Wright has retained private legal counsel or requested a court-appointed public defender to represent him.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
