February 8, 1942 ~ August 18, 2022 (age 80)

Susanna Stella Valdez Farnsworth, age 80, passed away at her home with her loved ones surrounding her.

Susie was born in Durango, Colorado to Joe and Donna Valdez. The family later moved to Springville, Utah.

Susie was the oldest of 6 children. Her parents never needed a babysitter as she always took good care of the younger ones. She worked every summer in high school babysitting children in near by towns for weeks at a time.

Susie was an avid reader. She was in the high school library daily and read everything she could. At home she was always reading a book at any time of the day. She also loved to sew. She made dresses for all her younger sisters and had them model them at the local high school.

Susie learned the piano in high school. She loved classical music and had quite a record collection. She introduced her younger sisters to the music she loved. She enjoyed listening to great music throughout her lifetime. This music gave her great comfort and happiness the last few months of her life when she was struggling.

Susie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She later married Deronda Farnsworth and together they had 4 children. The family moved to North Ogden where she taught her children the value of work through gardening and canning. Her love of music carried on to her children. There were many times she would dance to rock and roll with her children dancing by her side. For many years she played on a city bowling league.

The family moved to Plain City, Utah. Deronda and Susie were eventually divorced. Susie worked many years at the Ogden Defense Depot/Hill Air Force Base were she retired after 30 years.

Susie loved to travel and see new places. She enjoyed her trips to Wendover with her daughter Jeanna.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents (Joe and Donna Valdez) her brother (Kenny Valdez) and her son (Terry Farnsworth).

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Annalee (Dale) Parkinson of Roy Utah; her daughter Jeanna Anderson of Plain City Utah and daughter Donnette (Gary) Isom of Clearfield Utah; sisters Delores Koense, Linda Malan, Leona Haskell and Nancy Valdez; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A special Thank You to her Daughter Jeanna and her Grandson Jake who spent countless hours with Mom caring for her so she could stay in her own home until she left this earth.

A special Thank You to Aspen Ridge Home Health and Hospice for their expert, kind and caring assistance to both Susie and her family, especially her Nurse Ashlee, and her CNA Heather.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service for Susie that will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden Utah.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Myers Mortuary.
