LOGAN – Summerfest Arts Faire needs many more volunteers. The event is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and they depend heavily on volunteers. This year’s Summerfest will take place June 13-15 at the Cache County Event Center and Fairgrounds.

“The fairground venue has a 70 percent approval rating of the people that come to enjoy the event,” said Summerfest Arts Faire Executive Director Shirlene Davis. “People like the parking, the shade and there is more room to roam. The space gives us more opportunity to grow.”

This year there will be 165 visual artists, 38 performing groups on two stages and 31 food vendors and thousands of visitors for one of Logan’s most popular seasonal events.

“We are looking at one of our bigger Summerfests in recent years,” she said. “We looked back to 2019 as one of our bigger years and we had 159 artists.”

Each year hundreds of volunteers help make the festival happen, and it can’t be done without them. This year they need volunteers in several areas: youth and scout projects, businesses and organizations who want to provide an employee-volunteer group and general volunteers.

“We are very grateful for all the people who volunteer their help for our event,” Davis said. “We couldn’t do it without them.”

Here are some volunteer opportunities for individuals and organizations:

They need help with the Creation Station (the children’s hands-on art yard), booth sitting, hospitality, parking, plein air painting contest and bike valet attendant are a few of the opportunities available. Shifts generally run for two hours. There are many positions that are perfect for school groups and clubs who wish to provide service.

Members of the Summerfest Arts Faire board of directors will also be volunteering, each taking an area of responsibility.
