LOGAN – Stand-up comic Jordan Makin will headline the next installment of “Comedy at the Hall” on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Makin will bring his own brand of wildly self-deprecating comedy to the LionHeart Hall that evening at 7:30 p.m.
Born and raised in Provo, Makin has always had to compensate for his red hair – he calls it “ginger” – and uneventful childhood by being funny. Given that background, stand-up comedy was a natural career choice.
Like other comics that have performed at LionHeart Hall, Makin is part of the stable of “guaranteed clean” stand-ups who tour the Utah club circuit under the Dry Bar Comedy aegis.
He has been know to riff about his fellow redheads becoming extinct; being over-charged $100,000 at a fast-food restaurant; and what it feels like to be guilt-tripped by the Fitbit craze.
Makin has recorded three comedy specials for Dry Bar Comedy, including “Big Fat Funny Ginger,” “Heckboy” and “Ugly Kids.”
His comedy has also been featured at the NoHo Comedy Festival, Golden Spike Comedy Festival and the 2018 Devil Cup.
Together with his wife Adrienne, Makin also hosts the “My Wife Thinks” podcast.
Brothers Ryan and Travis Leonhardt have been operating the LionHeart Hall since August of 2023.
In addition to theatrical performances (Seussical the Musical and Daddy Long Legs, both produced by Cache Theatre Company), the hall has hosted weddings, corporate events, dances and most recently the Light Switch Stories series.
