LOGAN — It’s been several years since the conference has taken place in-person, but that will happen this week as the 35th annual American Mothers Conference will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the recently-restored Logan Tabernacle building in downtown Logan.

On KVNU’s For the People program last week, Diane Weese said it will be held in-person but also online.

“Yes, our American Mothers Conference is back live, and it’s almost funny because our theme this year is ‘Restore.’

“We kind of did that in honor of the building being restored. But restore means bring back, so we are bringing it back live. It also will be on Youtube for those who cannot make it that night,” she explained.

The annual event, that originally started in Weese’s home, features a special guest, and this year is no different.

“This year our speaker is Heather Von Boerum, and she is down from the Salt Lake area. She, two years ago, was just innocently walking out of Costco and was pinned between two cars and lost her two legs. This was pretty tragic that she almost lost her life, but she will be so inspring.”

Weese said she has gone on to do great things and talk to people throughout Utah and outside the state as well.

Also, at the conference, there will be a musical guest.

“Her name is Jarica Jamison,” Weese explained, “and I just recently was able to meet her and go over and practice in the Tabernacle. Of course, it’s got a beautiful sound to everything that you do in there. She is a country, pop, Christian singer, and she has sung some songs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also other songs.”

Weese said the organization’s name is American Mothers, but it really embraces the entire family. Women, men and family members of all ages are welcome to the conference on Thursday night.
