Cache County’s 911 Communication Center has a new director and she was introduced to members of the Logan Municipal Council at their meeting on Tuesday.

Shelley Peterson was introduced by Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen, who said Peterson is very well qualified for the job. Jensen said she has been part of the center’s operations since 1994.

“She has worked as a dispatcher, a training officer, a shift coordinator, a 911 supervisor, and now to our director position,” Jensen told the council during a formal introduction. “During her 21 years of service Shelley has taken an active role to ensure the highest level of professional emergency and non-emergency dispatching services are provided to the citizens and public safety professionals of Cache County.”

Implemented in 1994, the 911 communication center directs all law enforcement operations in Logan and throughout the county. Until recently, former Logan Police Lieutenant Randy Auman had served as the director from the time it was first organized.
