JEFFERSON COUNTY, Idaho — A reward is now being offered for the safe return of two Idaho teenagers, Allen Larand Fischer, 13, and Rachelle Leray Fischer, 15, who vanished Sunday evening. The two teens were reported missing from Monteview, Idaho after sheriff’s deputies said they may have gone to Cache Valley, due to what law enforcement described as “religious beliefs.”
Their mother, Elizabeth Roundy, believes her children were abducted by older siblings and other members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or FLDS Church. Roundy, a former FLDS member, says she was at a Bible class when her children disappeared.
The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a national advocacy group, announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to their safe return. The foundation’s director, Daniel Chapin, who has personal experience with religious extremist groups, believes the teens have been “abducted by this highly dangerous, religious group.”
An Amber Alert remains active for Allen and Rachelle, with tips coming in from across the country. Rachelle has brown hair and blue eyes, last seen in a dark green dress. Allen has sandy blonde hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a light blue shirt with blue jeans.
The Amber Alert added that the two children may be with adult siblings, headed to a FLDS Group. The sheriff’s office added the children may be returning to Trenton, Utah, where they previously lived.
