RIVER HEIGHTS – Newly sworn-in Utah Rep. Jason Thompson (R-River Heights) is inviting constituents from House District 3 to meet with him at one of two upcoming town hall events.

The first of those is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Richmond City Offices.

The second meeting – billed as a Majority Caucus Town Hall gathering with other local representatives — is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the David B. Haight Alumni Center on the campus of Utah State University.

“Public input is the cornerstone of effective representation,” according to the former mayor of River Heights, who is encouraging residents to turn out to those meetings to learn about legislative priorities and share their thoughts about pressing issues.

Thompson was recently appointed to critical committee roles in the Legislature involving oversight of government operations, judicial matters and public education funding.

“My focus will remain on transparency, justice and ensuring that our public education system receives the resources it needs to thrive,” he explains.

The Richmond City offices are located at 90 South, 100 West in Richmond.
