The Raspberry Days parade is always a big hit in Garden City during thier annual celebration.

GARDEN CITY – Bear Lake Raspberry Days festival will be held Thursday, Aug. 3 until Saturday Aug. 5, at Heritage Park in Garden City.

Every morning of the Raspberry Days festival Carolina Linkogle will lead a free group Zumba class at the Heritage Park stage area located at 579  Buttercup Blvd. from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. daily.

The main festival and fair will also be held at Heritage Park and will begin at 10 a.m. and go until 8 p.m. The event does not allow smoking or pets in the park.

The festival will include vendors from the Bear Lake Valley as well as from out of town. There are also food trucks and several activities all on site to promote fun, safe and family-oriented activities.

On Thursday, Bingo will begin at 11 a.m. and will go until noon at the West Park Stage.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and this year’s theme is Made in America. This year’s Grand Marshalls will be Mary and Howard Pope.

Participants must sign in to be in the parade and the line up starts at 200 N. and Bear Lake Blvd. at 5 p.m. The parade travels south on Bear Lake Blvd. then turns west on 350 South. The parade ends at 100 West and that is where the participants can be picked up.

On Friday, August 4 after the 8:30 a.m. Zumba Class the main festival will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m. and will look the same as Thursday’s fair.

The annual pie eating contest will be held at the main festival stage from 11 a.m. until noon. They plan to hold four heats of 10 to 12 people. There is an entry fee of $5 cash only and all entries will receive a free t-shirt. There are also other prizes by Chad’s Raspberry Products, the sponsor of the contest.

A live concert will with Lady Infinity will begin at 1 p.m. with Summer Bloom, followed by Bingo from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Brian Martin will take the stage at 4 p.m. followed by another Bingo game from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. The final entertainer will be country western singer John King. He will take the stage at 6 p.m.

Don’t forget the Laketown Rodeo at 7 p.m. located at 275 East 250 South Street in Laketown.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, the biggest part of the activities will take place beginning with a 5K Run at 8 a.m.

Another Bingo Game will be played again from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon.

The Golf Scramble will take place from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Bear Lake Golf Course, located 4 miles North of Garden City. The four-person scramble will have a shotgun arrangement.

Every eating establishment in Garden City generally serves a fresh Raspberry Shake during Raspberry Days.

A live concert will begin at11 a.m. featuring Brother Chunky and his bluesy roots music, followed by Saddle Strings at 2 p.m.

The final night of the Laketown Rodeo will begin at 7 p.m.

The ever-popular Lighted Boat Parade, provided by the Bear Lake Yacht Club, will begin at 9 p.m. and will go between the Bear Lake Marina and Ideal Beach.

The firework show will start around 10 p.m. to finish off the three day event.
