LOGAN — A 31-year-old Providence man has admitted to possessing hundreds of photos and videos of child sexual abuse material on an internet account registered in his name. Casey Daniel Hoggan was arrested in January 2023 after reportedly telling law enforcement that he imagined himself being a little boy.

According to court records, Hoggan appeared March 31 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, a first-degree felony; and three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed five remaining charges.

In July 2022, Logan City Police officers received a cyber-tip, reporting an individual in the area was uploading child pornography to a Google Drive account. The account was tracked to a Providence residence.

Police served a warrant to Google, requesting the contents of the Drive account. They received 241 images and 34 videos of child pornography. Some of the files contained children as young as 3-years old being raped and sodomized.

Officers arrested Hoggan and booked him into the Cache County Jail. During questioning, he admitted to viewing, downloading and sharing child pornography with other users. He also stated “he liked to envision he was a male child,” the arrest affidavit reported.

Hoggan is currently out of jail on $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 19 and could face up to life in prison.
