LOGAN — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man who reportedly fled his home Tuesday afternoon to avoid being arrested.

Julio Lopez was arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail, Wednesday afternoon. He’s being held without bail and charges are pending.

On Tuesday, police said Lopez ran out of the back of his Smithfield home when police and probation officers attempted to arrest him on a warrant.

Police set up a perimeter around the area of 800 West and 100 North and asked local residents to remain in their homes and be on the lookout for Lopez.

Smithfield City Police officer Brandon Muir said Lopez is a fugitive with Utah Adult Probation and Parole and is wanted on local charges. He also has gang associations.
