LOGAN — Phone service for some residents in northern Utah was restored after an interruption occurred Wednesday. The outage impacted residents who had phone service through Lumen, formerly CenturyLink.
The Logan City Police Dispatch Center reported the phone outage could disrupt 911 services for some residents. They advised that if anyone was unable to reach the dispatch center, to contact the secondary line at 435-753-7555.
The Lumen Technologies line was accidentally cut in Ogden on Tuesday night. It was reportedly repaired around 3 p.m.
The outage primarily impacted citizens with Lumen landlines. It did not affect cell phone or VOIP phone users.
Dispatchers advised residents to check on friends, family, and neighbors, who might have been impacted by the outage.
