IVINS — Utah’s annual PGA TOUR event, the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort, has announced a new statewide community initiative: a financial literacy program for Teen Centers, developed in partnership with The Policy Project.

The program, set to launch during the 2025–26 school year, will provide students with practical lessons in money management, future planning and entrepreneurial confidence. Championship funding will power the program, which organizers say will leave a legacy beyond the fairways.

With 20 new Teen Centers opening this fall, Utah will have 86 centers statewide, including Logan’s Wilson Elementary.

“The Bank of Utah Championship is honored to partner with The Policy Project on this important new program that will positively impact teens across Utah,” said Patrick Manning, managing director of Black Desert Resort.

Bank of Utah President Branden Hansen said the initiative will help teens “unlock their full potential and improve their lives, and grow into builders and leaders in their communities.”

Teen Centers are meant to provide safe, supportive spaces within schools to help students meet basic needs and focus on education. Adding financial literacy builds on existing services that address barriers such as student homelessness and access to resources.

The Bank of Utah Championship debuted in 2024 as the state’s first PGA TOUR event in more than 60 years. The 2025 tournament will return Oct. 23–26 at Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah.
