WELLS, Nev. (AP) – Nevada troopers say a 38-year-old man and 20-year-old woman from Logan, Utah died early Sunday morning when their Ford Explorer overturned on Interstate 80 in Wells, Nevada. A one-year-old girl in a car seat that was not belted inside the Explorer survived without any injuries.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says the driver Richard Beaumont and passenger Dawna Loughney weren’t wearing their seatbelts when the SUV hit a guardrail and overturned on the interstate. Both were ejected from the Explorer and died at the scene.

The agency says it doesn’t know why the car hit the guardrail as it was traveling east on the interstate. Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday
