BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho — A 22-year-old North Ogden, Utah, man died Friday morning after his motorcycle collided head-on with an SUV on Minnetonka Cave Road, according to the Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred around 11:22 a.m. west of St. Charles.

Troopers said the man was riding a white Kawasaki KLX110 motorcycle eastbound on Minnetonka Cave Road when he struck a westbound tan Jeep Liberty driven by a 66-year-old Montpelier, Idaho, woman.

The motorcycle rider, who was not wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt and was not transported to a hospital.

Emergency crews blocked the road for approximately four hours while processing the scene.

The Idaho State Police is investigating the collision with assistance from the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Bear Lake EMS, Bear Lake Fire, and Intermountain Life Flight.
