BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — The Brushy Fire expanded to 10,002 acres and reached 25% containment as of Friday afternoon, state fire officials announced.
Aviation resources first noticed the blaze on Wednesday evening, burning on Promontory Point. The cause of the fire is still being determined.
Fire crews continue working to secure the perimeter, with additional suppression resources en route to assist with containment efforts.
Officials urged the public to stay clear of the active fire area and issued a strict warning regarding unauthorized drone usage. Fire authorities emphasized that illegal drone activity forces firefighting aircraft to be grounded, posing direct safety risks to both ground crews and aerial firefighters.
