LOGAN – Miss Native American Princess was crowned Saturday at a Utah State POW WOW.

Cynthia Tsosie is part of the Navajo tribe. Tsosie came from USU’s Blanding campus and now lives in Logan.

Pursuing her education in animal and dairy science, Tsosie wanted a way to reconnect with her tribal roots. The Miss Native American Princess pageant helped fulfill that need.

“It’s to remind myself of who I am,” Tsosie said.

Tsosie’s new position means she will branch out and meet new friends, something she said would make her service meaningful.

“It’s going be a lot of time, but in the end it’s going be worth it,” Tsosie said.

Tsosie will be Miss Native American Princess until next year.

The pageant organizers had a new crown made this year for the future Miss Native American Princesses.
