WELLSVILLE – Utah State’s annual Rodeo Kids Camp gave young children a hands-on introduction to horses, riding and basic rodeo skills Saturday.
Held at Utah State, the camp lets kids try activities tied to rodeo and horse care while learning at their own level. Head rodeo coach Colton Bair said the goal is to make the experience approachable for beginners and meaningful for every child who takes part.
“We tailor it to them,” Bair said.
The camp is now in its third year and is held annually, giving families a chance each spring to connect their children with rodeo in a fun, interactive setting.
For Elissa Johnson, whose children attended for the first time, the experience was exciting.
“We are super excited that we got to be a part of it,” Johnson said.
And for one young camper, the review was simple.
“I had fun,” Briggs said.
