LOGAN — A new Institute of Religion at Utah State University officially opened its doors following a dedication ceremony on Nov. 23, 2025.
Elder Gérald Caussé of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints facility, located at 600 Darwin Ave. on the USU campus. During the dedication, Caussé described the building as a sacred space for students to teach one another and feel the Spirit.
He expressed hope that students would establish lifelong habits of gospel study during their time at the university.
“May all who enter feel Thy Spirit and the warmth of friendship,” Caussé said. “May hearts be turned toward Thee, faith strengthened, and lives changed. Let this be a place where testimonies grow, where many will choose to be baptized, enter missionary service, and make and keep temple covenants.”
Andy Bryan, director of the Logan Institute of Religion, said the program provides a vital impact for young adults across Cache Valley.
“This new building stands as an innovative place for learning, worship, and belonging,” Bryan said. “It continues a legacy of helping young adults become resilient disciples of Jesus Christ.”
The 100,500-square-foot, two-story building was approved in January 2022. It replaces the original institute building, which was demolished in 2023. The original structure dated back to 1928 and underwent five additions, the last of which was completed in 1994.
Designed for single adults ages 18 to 30, the institute provides religious education and social activities, such as dances. Currently, there are more than 350,000 students enrolled in nearly 2,700 institute locations worldwide.
