With the recent selection of Elizabeth “Betsy” Cantwell as Utah State University’s 17th president, the school’s focus shifts now to a nationwide search to find the next leader at USU Eastern in Price.
Greg Dart announced recently he is leaving the position June 30.
A senior associate vice president for USU Blanding and USU Moab, Kristian Olsen, will chair the search.
Rich Etchberger, interim USU vice president for Statewide Campuses, said the committee will be looking for a leader for the campus in Price who will be strongly engaged with both the university and the local community.
He said the goal is to announce a finalist by June 30. If it doesn’t happen by then, James Y. Taylor, senior associate vice president for USU Uintah Basin, will serve as interim chief campus administrator.
Monday, June 5, the search committee will host two one-hour public forums at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center in Price to seek input from the USU Eastern community. Faculty and staff are invited to a 10 a.m. meeting, followed by an 11:30 a.m. gathering for community members.
Both sessions will be available on a live stream.
