BINGHAM COUNTY, Idaho — A 29-year-old Chubbuck Idaho man died in a motorcycle crash Monday night, April 7. The accident was reported at approximately 8:10 p.m., on State Highway 26 at 100 N in Bingham County, west of Blackfoot.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 58-year-old man from Blackfoot was traveling westbound on 100 N in a maroon GMC Jimmy. A 29-year-old man from Chubbuck with a juvenile passenger was westbound on SH-26 on a Yamaha motorcycle. The GMC failed to yield when crossing the highway and was struck by the motorcycle.
Investigators report the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The juvenile passenger was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, by Bingham County EMS. The driver of the GMC was not transported.
Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were wearing helmets. The driver of the GMC was wearing a seatbelt.
Idaho State Police did not release the identities of those involved in the crash, pending notification of family. They are continuing to investigate the accident with the help of the Bingham County Sheriff Office.
